Final four in sight of HSBC title

The race for this year’s HSBC World Match Play Championship title is down to the final four with South Africa’s Retief Goosen, New Zealand’s Michael Campbell, Ireland’s Paul McGinley and Argentina’s Angel Cabrera is sight of the £1million first prize.

Number one seed Goosen was in record-equalling form as he swept Australia’s Mark Hensby aside 12 & 11 to set up a semi-final with US Open winner Campbell. The New Zealander finally overcame veteran Australian Steve Elkington on the 37th hole of an epic contest.

In the other semi-final McGinley, who took the notable scalp of England’s Luke Donald by a 9 & 8 margin, will take on number two seed Cabrera who got the better of Spain’s Jose Maria Olazabal.
