Is it Jacobson's time in Hartford

BY Bruce Young | US PGA Tour | 2011 Travelers Championship | Day Three | 26 Jun 2011

Fredrik Jacobson has followed up his good tournament at last week’s US Open to grab the third round lead at the Travelers Championship at the TPC River Highlands in Hartford in Connecticut.

Jacobson, who actually moved into outright second at Congressional Country Club through nine holes of his final round before faltering to finish 14th, added a third round of 63 in this week’s event and has opened up a one shot lead over Bryce Molder with a further two shots back to James Driscoll.

The 36 year old Swede first became a regular on the PGA Tour in 2004 but has yet to record a victory so tomorrow offers a big opportunity.

15 players stand within five shots of Jacobson’s lead however and he will need to maintain the pace he has already set to hold off the chasers.

The event has been hampered by weather delays and many had to complete round two early on Saturday morning although things are now back on schedule.

Aaron Baddeley has bounced back from a horror second round at the US Open to be the leading Australian through 54 holes. He stands in 16th position at 10 under. In what has been a disappointing week generally for the Australians, however, Aron Price was the only other to make it to the weekend and he shares 44th position.
