Yani Tseng continued her domination of women’s golf by today winning the second major of the year, the Wegmans LPGA Championship, by a massive ten shots over Morgan Pressel with a further shot back to Paula Creamer, Suzann Pettersen and defending champion Cristie Kerr.
Tseng, who claimed the number one position in the female game earlier in the year at the ANZ RACV Ladies Masters at Royal Pines on the Gold Coast of Australia, will further extend her lead in those rankings as a result of this emphatic victory.
Tseng led the tournament form start to finish. The further the tournament progressed the further she went ahead converting her five shot 54 hole lead into the remarkable ten shot margin.
For Tseng it is her second LPGA Championship title and her fourth major. She now appears likely to dominate the LPGA Tour in the manner Annika Sorenstam and Loren Ochoa did before her.
Karrie Webb finished 20th but a massive 17 shots behind the winner.
The LPGA Tour’s next event will be the US Women’s Open in Colorado Springs beginning on July 7th.
