Scotland’s Russell Knox has won the Nationwide Tour’s Chiquita Classic by two shot over American Bill Hurley.

Knox gained access to the Nationwide Tour earlier this year after finishing runner-up at the Fresh Express tournament where he Monday qualified but now his future appears a lot more certain.

Knox played college golf at Jacksonville University in the US before playing the Hooters Tour and eventually securing status on the Nationwide Tour.

The leading Australasian was New Zealander Bradley Iles who finished 14th. Danny Lee in his first Nationwide Tour event for some time was 22nd while the leading Australian was first round leader Andrew Buckle who finished 27th.
