Pittsburgh beckons many Aussies

The Nationwide Tour is in Pennsylvania this week for the Mylan Classic at the Arthur Hills designed Southpointe Golf Club in Canonsburg just south of Pittsburgh.
This will be the eighth consecutive week on the road for many of those in this field and while many have benefited from the continuity of play, no Nationwide event next week will be a blessing for those looking to recharge their batteries for the final few events of the year.
The event is being played for just the second occasion after Kevin Kisner won the inaugural staging last year.
Several PGA Tour players will again tee it up this week including last week’s third place finisher John Mallinger and John Daly.
Steve Wheatcroft who won earlier this year by a massive 12 shots finished third in this event last year and must be some sort of consideration.
Twenty two Australasians are in this week’s field headed in terms of money list ranking by James Nitties whose 13th place finish last week has moved him to 10th on the money list an all but assured of his place on the PGA Tour in 2012.
Mathew Goggin who currently heads the money list is not in this week’s field choosing instead, it would seem, to combine this week of with next week’s enforced break.
Danny Lee is the next leading Australasians in the field, the New Zealander in 11th place on the money list.
