Tseng and Yang lead in Arkansas

Korean Amy Yang and Taiwan’s Yani Tseng take a one shot lead over American Taylor Leon into the final round of the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship in Rogers, Arkansas.
For Yang, tomorrow’s final round offers the opportunity to break through for her first LPGA Tour title while Tseng is chasing her 5th LPGA Tour win this season and her 7th overall in 2011.
Tseng, the clear World number one, is the defending champion in this event and appears to have bounced back from a couple of indifferent tournaments since her last win at Carnoustie in early August.
Yang’s round of 64 was the best of the day and in fact has been the best of the week. It has been a good bounce back after what was a slow start to the tournament on Friday when the 22 year bogeyed two of her opening three holes.
Yang’s career has promised so much since winning the ANZ Ladies Masters on the Gold Coast in 2006 as a 16 year old but while she has achieved much, the breakthrough LPGA Tour victory has proved elusive.
She has won three times on the Ladies European Tour but many feel that when her first victory in the US does finally come there will be many more to follow.
World number three Cristie Kerr is just two behind the lead along with In Bee Park, Jin Young Pak and American Stacy Lewis the latter of who is in the middle of a great season on the LPGA Tour having won the Kraft Nabisco and finished runner-up in two other events.
Australians Lindsey Wright, Karrie Webb and Sarah Jane Smith only just survived the cut in 65th position.
