Bae again to fore on Japan Golf Tour

Korean Bae Sang-moon and Japan’s Akinori Tani lead at the halfway stage of the Tokai Classic in Nagoya in Japan, the pair enjoying a two shot lead over Bae’s fellow Korean Kim Hyun Sung.

Current Japan Tour money list leader Tetusji Hirtasuka continued his good recent form to be in a share of 4th position at 5 under.

Bae has been in sensational form in 2011 winning once, being runner-up on two occasions and third on one other. Bae is currently in second position behind Tetsuji Hiratsuka on this year’s money list.

Tani has yet to win a Japan Golf Tour event although earlier in his career he won twice on the Challenge Tour in that country.

Former winner and leading world ranked player in the field Ryo Ishikawa is in a share of 19th position at 2 under and six shots behind the leaders.

David Smail is the best of the Australasians in 12th position and five behind the lead with Paul Sheehan one shot further back.

Neven Basic is in 34th position while Steve Conran was the only other Australasian to make the cut in 61st position.
