Nitties closer to PGA Tour return

James Nitties is the leading Australasian at the halfway mark of the Nationwide Tour’s Miccosukee Championship in Miami, his two round total of 6 under leaving his in a share of 16th position and seven shots behind the leader, Jason Kokrak.

Nitties, for whom a good finish this week would all but secure his place on the PGA Tour next season, recorded a bogey free round of 67. Currently in 19th position on the money list this would be a very good time for a strong weekend.

Kokrak is already assured of a place on the PGA Tour next year thanks in the main to his win at the recent Albertsons Boise Open but clearly he is not about to rest on his laurels, adding a round of 66 to his brilliant opening round of 63 to be three ahead of Luke List and the consistent Swede Jonas Blixt

Scott Gardiner and Tim Wilkinson are the next best of the Australasians in 23rd position while Alistair Presnell and Peter Lonard are in 40th position and the only others to make the cut.
