Australians miss Champions Tour chance

Australian golfers Mike Harwood and Peter Fowler have missed out on gaining a card to play the Champions Tour in 2012, Harwood unable to capitalise on his fast start to the event and Fowler’s slow start costing him any chance.

Harwood finished in 21st position and Fowler 25th but with only the top five gaining full status and a further seven conditional status their hopes have been dashed.

Both will continue to ply their trade in Europe in 2012, Fowler leading that money list at present in 2011.

The players who earned full status cards were Jeff Freeman, Gary Hallberg, Jim Rutledge, Jeff Hart and P.Horgan 111
