Toru Taniguchi won his fourth tournament of the year on the Japan Tour today with a two shot win over Nozomi Kawahara and Zaw Moe at the Tokai Classic on the outskirts of Nagoya.

Taniguchi, who started round four one shot behind Kawahara, matched strides with with his less experienced opponent through the front nine, both out in 33 until Kawahara who has yet to win in Japan, triple bogied the eleventh hole to allow Taniguchi to take the lead. From there on it was a case of Taniguchi eliminating mistakes and although both Kawahara and Zaw Moe closed to with in two shots, Taniguchi went on to win his fourth event of the year and his seventh win overall in Japan. He now heads the money list in Japan this season with $A1,900,000 (equiv)

New Zealander Richard Lee fought back after a disappointing third round to finish tied for 12th and a cheque for 1,992,000 yen or SA29,000. This jumps Lee to 66th on the money list and close to full status for next year. His third round included a back nine of 42 to fall to twenty third starting round four so to bounce back the way he did in the final round speaks volumes for his progress as a player this year.

Australian Anthony Gilligan was 47th and Brad Andrews 61st.
