Australian women chasing European cards

BY Bruce Young | 15 Jan 2012

Two Australians and one New Zealander tee it up tomorrow at the Final Stage of Qualifying for the 2012 Ladies European Tour, the leading 30 players at the end of 90 holes earning one of the 30 fully exempt cards available at the La Manga in Spain.

South Australian Stephanie Na, Victorian, Alison Whitaker, and New Zealander, Caroline Bon, will tee it up with just over 100 others as they chase the right to play in Europe.

Whitaker played the LPGA Tour last season without success while Na played the Futures Tour in the US and Bon played occasionally in LET events.

Those players finishing outside the top 30 in this week’s event and yet making the 72 hole cut will be eligible for starts based on availability although following a re-rank early in the season both categories will be merged.

The event is to be played over the La Manga Club’s North and South layouts in Murcia in Spain
