Bristow wins Moss Vale Ladies Classic

New Zealand golfer Cathryn Bristow produced a brilliant second round of 65 at the Moss Vale Golf Club’s Ladies Classic in southern New South Wales to sweep to a four shot victory over recent Victorian Women’s Open winner Joanna Klatten of France and Australians Sarah Kemp and Nikki Campbell.

Bristow, from Auckland, played collegiate golf at the University of Oregon and last year won her first professional event when successful at the Pennsylvania Classic on the Futures Tour. The 27 year old left hander turned professional in 2009 and gained conditional status on the LPGA Tour in 2010 before playing the Futures Tour in 2011.

Bristow was tied in the lead with Frances Bondad after her opening round of 68 but was too good for her rivals in round two with a superb display over the original Carnegie Clark designed layout.

The ALPG Tour now heads to Canberra for this week’s Actew AGL Royal Canberra Ladies Classic.
