Nationwide Tour in Athens

Athens in Georgia is the home for this week’s Nationwide Tour event, the Stadion Classic at the University of Georgia Golf Club.

The original Robert Trent Jones design was upgraded six years ago by Davis Love’s design organisation, Love Design, and has played host to the event for the past two years.

Last year Russell Henley won the event as an amateur but now, as a professional, he is back to defend. Henley has made a slow start to his first full season on the Nationwide Tour but there have been a few good signs in recent weeks.

The Australasians in this week’s field are Steve Alker, Steve Allan, Steve Bowditch, Andrew Buckle, Scott Gardiner, Mattew Giles, Luke Hickmott, Bronson La Cassie, Peter Lonard, James Nitties, Cameron Percy, Alistair Presnell, Aron Price, Michael Sim, Andre Stolz, and Tim Wilkinson.

Cameron Percy, in 18th position, currently leads the Australasians on the Nationwide Tour money list.
