Australian John Senden is happy with the state of his game as he heads into his fourth US Open. Senden made the cut for the first time when he finished 30th at Congressional last year.
After a very good start to the season, Senden’s form has tapered off a little in recent weeks but some time spent with coach Ian Triggs in Dallas during a week off tournament golf last week has him confident of an improved showing this week at the Olympic Club.
“Early this year was excellent,” said Senden during his practice round with fellow Queenslander, Rod Pampling. "I am swinging it well however and now it is a matter of clearing the brain and keep playing.
“We worked on a few things last week and I feel good again. I was back in Dallas with Triggsy and it is always worthwhile to have him there.
“I played yesterday and am playing nine holes today and another nine tomorrow. I like the golf course. It has firmed up a little today but it is going to be the same old story in this event where patience is key.”
