A Hole in One on Par 4 at Olympic Club

In what could be a sign of good things to come this week in San Francisco, Alvaro Quiros launched an absolutely perfect drive and aced the Par 4 seventh hole at The Olympic Club during a U.S. Open practice round.
Using a 9.5 degree Driver, Quiros drove the green and then sent a roar through San Francisco as his ball politely rolled straight into the hole, culminating a 288-yard journey and notching the long-hitting Spaniard’s first ever Par 4 hole-in-one.
One very lucky little boy managed to get a hold of the ball, which Quiros promptly signed on his way to the 8th hole.
“I knew I hit the ball well, but thought that we would find it in the middle of the green,” said Quiros. “Then when I saw everyone in the stands jump to their feet and scream, I figured it must have hit the pin and be close. When they all remained on their feet and continued to cheer as we walked towards the green, I realized that something special had happened.”
