Alistair Presnell had a long wait to tee off on day two of the US Open after his opening round of 70 had him in a share of 7th position.
With an afternoon tee off on day two, Presnell had all morning to think about his opening day effort and to add to the increasing intensity of day two was the information coming from the course that even before he teed off he had moved within one of the lead.
Overnight leader Michael Thompson dropped three shots early and all of a sudden Tiger Woods, Michael Thompson and Jim Furyk were the only players ahead of him on the leaderboard.
Presnell will tee off in the second to last group this afternoon.
