Déjà vu for Webb Simpson at Greenbrier

A birdie at the final hole of his second round of 66 has given US Open Champion Webb Simpson the lead at the Greenbrier Classic in White Sulphur Springs in West Virginia.
Playing with Tiger Woods and Steve Stricker, Simpson took until the 7th hole to secure his first birdie of the day but without a bogey he added three more birdies to edge ahead with a putt from 6 feet at the last.
Interestingly Simpson also led this tournament last year at the halfway mark although at that time it was a share of the lead with Brendon de Jonge. He eventually finished 9th.
Simpson leads by one over Jonathan Byrd, Charlie Beljan, Jeff Maggert, Martin Flores and Jerry Kelly.
The story of the day was the missed cut by Tiger Woods although the weather delay would mean that tournament organisers would need to wait until in the early evening before his fate was decided.
Woods missed by two shots and along with Phil Mickelson, who would also bow out early, has left a huge gap for the tournament to fill over the weekend.
Gavin Coles and Rod Pampling lead the Australians in 23rd position while Marc Leishman has just crept through on the cutline.
