Canberra golfer Brendan Jones has today won his second Japan Golf Tour event of the season and has moved into the lead on the 2012 money list with a two shot victory over Korean Seong Ho Lee and Japan’s Hideki Matsumaya and Yoshinobu Tsukada to claim the Sun Chlorella Classic in Hokkaido.

Jones began the final round one shot behind Tsukada but by the turn he had taken the lead. Tsukada reclaimed the lead briefly early on the back nine but Jones was up to the task, finishing with a two under par round and the two shot victory.

It was Jones’ second victory in this event, the first coming back in 2003 at another venue to that being played this week.

It was Jones’ 12th career victory on the Japan Golf Tour and takes his career earnings there to more then A$9 million. Jones now moves back to the top of the 2012 Japan Tour money list with ¥72,000,000 or (A$875,000)

New Zealander David Smail finished in a share of 11th position while Kurt Barnes in 22nd position was the next best of the Australians.
