Fujita wins Barnes runner-up at ANA Open

Hiroyuki Fujita has today won his 14th Japan Golf Tour title and his second of 2012 with a one shot victory over four golfers who tied for second position at the ANA Open in Hokkaido today.

The 43 year old defeated last year’s winner, Australian Kurt Barnes, China’s Wen Chong Liang, Japan’s Yuta Ikeda and Korean and third round leader, Hyung-Sung Kim.

Barnes, Kim and Ikeda all bogeyed their final hole to miss out on an opportunity of a playoff and for Barnes the chance to successfully defend.

New Zealander Richard Lee was tied for 31st while Australian Brad Kennedy finished 37th.

Fujita’s victory has given him the lead in the Japan Tour’s money list for 2012 having taken over from Australian Brendan Jones who was absent this week due to family reasons.

Jones returns to the Japan Tour this week where he will play the Asia Pacific Panasonic Open, a tournament he won at another venue two years ago.
