Brandt Snedeker has scooped the pool at the Tour Championship by winning the event itself and the FedEx Cup, accumulating a mammoth US$11.44 million in prize-money and bonuses for the week.

Snedeker won by three over Justin Rose and by four over Ryan Moore and Luke Donald.

Snedeker’s final round of 68 in demanding conditions over the East Lake Golf Club’s layout, gave him the luxury of a four shot lead playing the final hole of the week and although he would bogey there he had enough in reserve to enjoy the moment and the massive payday.

“It’s just unbelievable,” said Snedeker after his round. "You know, it’s you don’t think about what’s going to happen after today, after the round. It was a full round today. But you go out there and play that round of golf, with that kind of pressure on that tough of a golf course and to go through the adversity I had to go through, hitting the ball in the water and making a double bogey early and fighting my way back.

“You know, this is what you work your whole life for. I look at all the putts I’ve hit and all the shots I’ve hit all through my life, it’s just unbelievable the ability to stay calm today. It just came through. I was so calm last night, I couldn’t believe it. Just, I’m very rarely speechless, but this is about as close as I get to speechless.”

Despite a final round of 74 which led to a 10th place finish this week, Rory McIlory earned an additional US$3,000,000 for finishing runner-up in the FedEx Cup race.

Tiger Woods finished 8th in the tournament and 3rd in the FedEx Cup points race earning another US$2 million for his already full coffers.

Adam Scott finished as the leading Australian this week when he finished 19th while John Senden was 26th.

Scott earned $195,000 in bonus money while Senden earned US$175,000 for finishing last of the 30 players who qualified for the event.
