Canon Open Ikeda's 10th Japan Tour title

Japan’s Yuta Ikeda today won his 10th Japan Tour title but his first in 15 months when he led the Canon Open in Yokohama from go to whoa.

The 26 year old won by three over Korean 20 year old Jung Gon Whan and Japan’s Taichi Teshima.

Ikeda moved to number two on this 2012 money list behind Hiroyuki Fujita, who finished in a share of 9th this week.

Brad Kennedy finished as the leading Australian this week when he also shared 7th while Brendan Jones was 22nd.

It was an improved performance for Kennedy who after winning earlier in the season at the Gateway to the Open Mizuno Open, had recorded a best of 32nd in his next six starts.

Jones dropped from 2nd to 3rd on this year’s money list.

The Japan Tour now heads to the Naha Golf Club in Okinawa for this week’s Japan Open.
