Presnell improves in Washington DC

BY Bruce Young | 08 Oct 2012

Sweden’s David Lingmerth, in his second Web.Com Tour season, has won his first event on that tour with a one shot victory over Case Wittenberg at the Neediest Kids Championship at the TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm in Maryland.

Lingmerth appeared to have cost himself a winning chance in the event with a third round of 74 when leading the event to fall four shots off the 54 hole pace of Josh Persons but he was back in business today. Even a bogey at the last would not cost him the important milestone.

Australia’s Alistair Presnell reversed some ordinary recent form to finish third, the $34,800 he won this week moving him to 39th on the money list. Two late birdies today on the demanding layout played a key role in Presnell’s good week.

Queensland’s Bronson La Cassie finished in a share of 6th position and moved to 75th on the money list.
