Web.com reaching crunch time in Miami

The Web.Com Tour reaches a crucial point this week when the Miccosukee Championship is played at its home since the inaugural staging of the event in 2003.
The Miccosukee Golf and Country Club is around 30 minutes to the south and west of Miami and plays host to the third to last event of the 2012 season and the second to last full field event.
In order for players to be involved at the Tour Championship at Craig Ranch in Dallas in two weeks time they will need to be inside the top 60 on the money list so while winning this event is important for many, for others just positioning themselves to get to Dallas is also important. Essentially anyone who makes it to Dallas keeps their hopes alive of making the top 25 if they have not already done so.
They also have next week’s Winn Dixie Jacksonville Open as a further opportunity but to strike while the iron is hot this week will ease some of the pressure.
Jason Kokrak won this event last year by seven shots and the year prior Jason Gore won by four.
With only Cameron Percy and Scott Gardiner assured of PGA Tour status in 2013 as a result of their positions inside the top 25 then this is a big week for many Australasians.
Alistair Presnell (39th), Nick Flanagan (41st) Tim Wilkinson (53rd) are currently inside the top 60.
