Japan Tour plays Bridgestone Open

BY Bruce Young | Japan Tour | 2012 Bridgestone Open | Preview | 17 Oct 2012

Two time winner Yuta Ikeda would appear to be a great chance to continue his good recent form and win the Bridgestone Open at the Sodegaura Country Club in Chiba near Tokyo.

Ikeda has been tree times runner-up and once a winner in his last seven starts and as two time winner of this event at this venue he looks a great chance to win again. Ikeda missed the cut here last year but his form of late has been outstanding and his record in the event overall is very good.

Leading money winner in 2012, Hiroyuki Fujita, is in the field as is Ikeda of course but Australian Brendan Jones, the number three on the money list is not.

Australasians in the field however are Brad Kennedy, Paul Sheehan, Steve Conran, Kurt Barnes, Neven Basic and former winner and New Zealander David Smail.

The tournament carries prizemoney of ¥150,000,000 or A$ 1,850,000.
