Woods in control again at Torrey Pines

Tiger Woods has a two shot lead over Billy Horschel at the Farmer Insurance Open at Torrey Pines as he looks to add to his stunning record at the famed twin layouts near San Diego in Southern California.
Six players are at 8 under and one behind Horschel, those players including Casey Wittenberg, Brad Fritsch, Erik Compton, Steve Marino, Jimmy Walker and Josh Teater.
Woods has recorded twelve birdies and two eagles in his opening 36 holes and at 11 under his chances of extending his great record at Torrey Pines look very good.
With six PGA Tour victories at the venue plus a US Open and junior event success Woods appears likely to add yet another victory and draw level with the PGA Tour seven victories he has recorded at The Firestone Country Club and at Bay Hill.
Woods played the easier North Course today but his 65 was impressive nonetheless. He cooled off a little after he had played his opening 11 holes in 6 under but a two putt birdie at his final hole gave him might what prove to be a winning break.
After missing the cut in Abu Dhabi last week it perhaps better reflects where Woods is at with his game and there will be a lot of interest to see if he can finish it off over the weekend.
John Senden leads the Australians in 9th position and four shots from Woods. Jason Day, Aaron Baddeley and Scott Gardiner made the cut on the number although another ten Australians will not play the weekend.
