Kisner wins in Chile

BY Bruce Young | 11 Mar 2013

Kevin Kisner has won the third event of the Web.Com Tour, the Chile Classic in Santiago, a final round of 68 giving his a one shot victory of co-third round leader, Edward Loar and fellow American Brice Garnett.

Kisner, a winner of the NCAA Championship during his amateur career, missed re-qualifying for the PGA Tour by just one shot last December, but after two missed cuts this season the victory has him on track for a return to the PGA Tour in 2014.

New Zealander Danny Lee was the best of the Australasians when he finished in a share of 6th, the 22 year old having lost PGA Tour status in 2012 now on the comeback trail.

Lee narrowly missed regaining his card at the Tour School last year but the youngest player to win a European Tour event when he won the 2009 Johnnie Walker Classic, is generally considered an immense talent who will be back on the PGA Tour before long.

Bronson La Cassie led the Australians when he finished 16th while Peter Lonard made his first cut of the season and finished 33rd.

The Web.Com Tour now has a one week break before re-starting in Louisiana.
