Australia defends at Toyota World Junior

The Toyota World Junior Golf Cup begins in Japan tomorrow when countries represented by four players per country will compete over 72 holes at the Chukyo Golf Club’s Ishino Course in Toyota Ishi east of Nagoya.

Players are 18 year of age or younger and are not College or University students.

Following their two shot victory in 2012, their only in the 21 year history of the event, Australia is chasing the defence of the title they won with a powerful final round to claim the title. Queenslander, Viraat Badhwar, was the individual winner.

Australia will this year be represented by Ricky Kato, Lucas Herbert, Ryan Ruffels and Antonio Murdaca.

Murdaca and Kato were also members of the successful team last year.

Other countries competing are Chile, Chinese Taipei, Costa Rica, Germany, Japan, Korea, Mexico, South Africa, Sweden, USA and Venezuela.
