DiMarco secures halfway lead at Disney Classic

Chris DiMarco has shot a -9 (63) to secure the halfway lead with -17 at the $3.7 million Walt Disney Golf Classic in Anaheim, Calfornia. DiMarco, who has only two top-10 finishes since winning the Phoenix Open in January, leads by the field by two strokes after a bogey-free round that included an eagle at the par-five 14th on the Palm Golf Course.
Scott Hoch moved into outright second place following a second round -7 (65) with overnight co-leader Hidemichi Tanaka a further stroke back at -14 and in outright 3rd place. Fellow first round co-leader, Bob Burns, took outright 4th place at -13 following a 68.
World No. 1 Tiger Woods slipped from equal 12th to 23rd place after posting a -3 (69) at the Magnolia Golf Course.
Stuart Appleby moved from 9th to 5th after a carding a -5 (67) to close the day at -12 and five strokes off the lead. Rod Pampling was next best at -11 and in 10th with Craig Parry and Michael Long another three strokes back at -8 (T35). Peter Lonard lost his way after carding a 1 (73) and fell back from 4th to 45th place at -7.
