Aussies flirting with futures

Ashley Hall and Nick Flanagan have kept their hopes alive of PGA Tour status and Web.Com Tour finals respectively with good starts to the News Sentinel Open in Knoxville in Tennessee.
Hall has moved from 127th to a projected 18th on the Web.Com Tour money list keeping alive his hopes of a place on the PGA Tour in 2014 should he finish inside the top 25 by the completion of next week’s Cox Classic.
Hall will still be required to play the Web.Com Tour finals but if he can finish 25th or better on the money list then he will be playing those finals to confirm his actual ranking on the big stage next year.
Flanagan on the other hand could jump inside that top twenty five with victory this week but importantly his share of 3rd thus far has moved him to 59th on the projected earnings, moving from 77th in the process and keeping alive his hopes of being inside the top 75 who play the finals beginning on August 29th.
Aaron Price has moved to 80th place on the money list with his share of 8th position to date, Steve Alker whose in 30th position this week has slipped to 23rd on the money list, James Nitties to 74th with a 44th place thus far this week and Peter Lonard staged a late rally today to make the cut with four late birdies.
While one event still remains on the regular Web.Com Tour schedule, the chance to finish this week’s event off well will be a great assistance to reach their quest for the various money list milestones.
New Zealander Tim Wilkinson, already assured of a place well inside the top twenty five, did his cause no harm with a share of 3rd this week.
By missing the cut Adam Crawford is now precariously placed in 71st position needing to be inside the top 75 by Sunday week, while Mathew Goggin continues his recent battles with a missed cut to now be in 24th position on the money list.
