Despite the threat of a typhoon causing the possibility of even further disruption to the already delayed Vana H Cup KBC Augusta event in Fukuoka in Japan, round two was eventually completed on day three and three players are tied in the lead.
Yoshinori Fujimoto, Satoshi Tomyama and Korean Sung Joon Park have opened up a two shot lead through 36 holes, the typhoon not eventuating although the event will now be reduced to 54 holes.
Four shots off the lead is the leading Australasian Michael Hendry who sits in a share of 11th position while Kurt Barnes is one shot further back.
Last week’s Kansai Open winner, Brad Kennedy recovered from his opening round of 74 with a 67 today to be at 3 under and six from the lead.
David Smail and Ryan Haller were the other Australasians to make the cut, the pair sitting right on the cut mark of even par.
