27 year old Korean Sung Joon Park today won the rain shortened Vana H Cup KBC Augusta with a two shot victory over his fellow countryman, 21 year old Jung-Gong Hwang, in Fukuoka in southern Japan.
Despite this being his first victory in Japan, Park has found a rich vein of form this season finishing runner-up on two occasions including at last week’s Kansai Open.
Park moves to 3rd position on the 2013 money list behind Hideki Matsuyama and Satoshi Kodaira.
New Zealander Michael Hendry finished best of the Australasians when he tied for 10th, his second best finish in his rookie season while last week’s Kansai Open winner, Brad Kennedy, did best of the Australians when 40th.
Hendry now moves to 45th position on the money list.
The Japan Tour now plays the Fujisankei Classic west of Tokyo.
