Matsuyama shares lead at Fujisankei

There is a four way tie for the lead through 36 holes at the Japan Golf Tour’s Fujisankei Classic in Yamanishi west of Tokyo, one the games hottest young stars, Hideki Matsuyama, amongst them.
Matsuyama, who is now a member of the International Presidents Cup side and in just five months as a professional has reached number 29 in the world, Hideto Tanihara, Hyung Joon Lee and Kaname Yokoo, at 5 under, lead by one over another large group at 4 under with a total of 20 players within three shots of the lead as the tournament enters the weekend.
After missing the cut last week in Fukuoka, Brendan Jones has recovered to lead the Australians although New Zealander Michael Hendry is tied with Jones at 2 under and four from the lead.
Ryan Haller at 1 over, and Steven Conran and David Smail at 2 over were the other Australasians to make the cut.
