European Tour qualifying begins

Qualifying has begun for the 2014 European Tour with the first two of eight Stage One venues across Britain and Europe now underway in Austria and Scotland.
Those eight stages will be completed by early November at which point the leading 22 or so from each venue will tackle one of the four Stage Two venues in Spain followed (if successful) a week later by the Final Stage in Malaga in Spain.
One Australian is playing in Austria this week, namely Jason Scrivener. Scrivener has begun well enough with an opening round of 70 to be in 15th position.
Other Australians entered in Stage One are Hamish McLeod, Stephen Dartnall, Kristian Bobnovic, Nathan Holman, Gavin Fairfax, Matt Jager and Kevin Marquess.
