The third and penultimate Web.com Tour Final has reached the halfway stage at the Scarlet course at the University of Ohio in Columbus and it is the Korean golfer, Seung Yul Noh, who leads the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship by one shot over Chesson Hadley.
22 year old Noh, has played the PGA Tour in 2012 and 2103 but after a great rookie season in 2012, this year has been a struggle. He finished outside the top 125 in the FedEx Cup points race and so is attempting to win his right to play the PGA Tour back once again.
After a 7th place finish in the first of the Finals two weeks ago in Indiana, Noh’s effort this week places him on the brink of a return of full status in 2014, he currently now leads the projected standings.
The 2011 US Amateur Champion Kelly Kraft is in outright third position.
The leading Australasians are Bronson La Cassie in 14th position, Rod Pampling and Danny Lee 17th and Alistair Presnell and Mathew Goggin 30th.
Only Bronson La Cassie, Tim Wilkinson, Danny Lee and Scott Gardiner are assured at this stage of earning PGA Tour status next year after the 4th and last of the Finals is played in two weeks time.
