Koumei Oda wins ANA Open

Koumei Oda has won his 6th Japan Golf Tour title with a four shot victory over Korean Kyoung Hoon Lee and Shingo Katayama the ANA Open at the Sapporo Golf Club in Hokkaido.
After Katayama had led with an opening round of 65, Oda took control during his second round and led into today’s final round by one, further consolidating that lead with three birdies in his opening nine holes to lead by two and extended that over his closing nine holes.
David Smail did best of the Australasian contingent when he finished 18th, former winner of the event, Kurt Barnes, was 24th, Michael Hendry was 33rd, Aaron Townsend 40th.
The Japan Golf Tour now heads south to Osaka to play the Asia Pacific Panasonic Open, a US$150,000 event jointly sanctioned with the Asian Golf Tour.
