Can Karrie make it 40 in Malaysia?

The LPGA moves from Beijing to Kuala Lumpur this week for the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia event where essentially the same field as last week’s event in China will tee it up at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club on Thursday.
Amongst the more fancied players, world number two, Suzann Pettersen returns after having last week off and given her form for much of the season she stands a good chance of taking up where she left off.
In her last 14 starts Pettersen has recorded two wins, a runner-up and three 3rd place finishes and with a 7th place finish here two years ago she has a chance of upsetting the defending champion and world number one Inbee park.
Last week’s hometown winner, Shanshan Feng finished 9th here last year although the one to beat may well be Na Yeon Choi who finish runner-up last year and won in 2011.
Choi finished 5th last week in Beijing suggesting she might be primed for a big week on a golf course the clearly fits her eye.
Karrie Webb finished third in this event last year and produced an impressive 4th place last week. She has a very good chance of winning her 40th LPGA Tour title and adding further to her brilliant career.
The only other Australian in the field is Katherine Hull Kirk.
