Improvement from Barnes in Japan

Low scoring has been very much the feature of the opening 36 holes at the Japan Golf Tour’s Toshin Tournament near Nagoya, Yoshinori Fujimoto at 17 under par the leader by two over Koumei Oda.
Defending champion Ashun Wu of China is two shots further back.
Fujimoto is in just his second season on the Japan Golf Tour having won the Japan Tour Championship in his first season in 2012.
Kurt Barnes leads the Australians in 4th position at 12 under and although five shots from the leader, the New South Welshman is only one shot out of third place.
Barnes is struggling this season on the Japan Golf Tour and is currently in 106th position on the money list so he needs to take advantage of this good start. His best finish to date in 2013 in Japan has been 24th so his consecutive rounds of 66 represent an encouraging turnaround.
David Smail’s recent improvement continues, the New Zealander in 14th position at 9 under while his fellow countryman Mike Hendry just made the cut at 5 under.
