18 year old Thompson too good in K.L.

18 year old Lexi Thompson capped off some good recent form with a four shot victory at the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia event at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club, the American proving too good for runner-up and last week’s winner Shanshan Feng and world number two Suzann Pettersen.
Following a good 3rd place finish at the recent Evian Championship Thompson took the lead in this event halfway through round three and the further they went the further she went ahead. Much of the buffer for her victory came when she reeled off four birdies and an eagle during round her second round on Thursday.
Today Thompson struggled early in her final round but a stretch of holes son after the turn had her back in control and she eased clear of a quality field to win her second LPGA Tour title.
Feng, who won in her homeland last week continued her very good form of late to finish four back while Petterson, who took last week off, was brave in her bid to win three LPGA Tour titles in succession.
Of the two Australians in the field Katherine Hull Kirk was 32nd and Karrie Webb 41st.
