Kurt Barnes fighting back in Japan
BY Bruce Young | 25 Oct 2013
Kurt Barnes still needing a good finish to ensure he safely retains his card for the Japan Golf Tour in 2014 is nicely placed after 36 holes of the Bridgestone Open in Japan, the New South Welshman in a share of 4th position three shots behind the three way tie at the top of the leaderboard.
Barnes is currently in 95th position on the 2013 Japan Tour money list and if he is to avoid returning to Tour School he needs to be inside the top 70 by season’s end.
Barnes recorded a second round of 66 despite two bogeys, the effort moving him from an overnight 36th to his share of 4th to lead the Australasians.
The leaders are Daisuke Maruyama, Toru Taniguchi and Eun Shin Park.
Brad Kennedy is in 31st position at 1 under with David Smail and Steve Conran in 45th position.
