Smith and Keating earn LPGA cards

BY Bruce Young | 09 Dec 2013

West Australian Kristie Smith and Victorian Stacey Keating will play the LPGA Tour in 2014 after both earned Category 17 membership when Final Qualifying was completed this morning.

Both players finished in a share of 38th position and while their status is not full status they should earn sufficient starts to establish themselves on the LPGA Tour if they play well enough.

It was a good effort from both ladies, Smith recovering from a slow start to the week after suffering an illness and Keating producing a final round of 2 under 70 to secure her card with just one shot to spare.

Frances Bondad narrowly missed her chance when finishing one shot short of the required mark while Breanna Elliott was three shots from the cut after a final round of 76.
