Qualifying for the Web.Com Tour has been completed in La Quinta in California and two Australians have earned the right to play on the secondary tour next year.

2002 Australian Open Champion, Steve Allan, finished in 15th position while former northern NSW golfer Jake Younan finished 42nd after staging a remarkable recovery over both the final day and the event generally.

Both now have Web.Com Tour status for 2014, Allan returning to the Tour while for 26 year old Arizona based Younan he is returning to the Web.Com Tour with status for the first time since 2011

Allan has played on the Web.Com and OneAsia Tours in recent times although he did play the PGA Tour for several years, the last of those in 2009.

Younan began the event with an opening round of 77, in fact through nine holes of day one he was a massive six over par and his chances appeared gone. He slowly but surely recovered but then again in today’s final round he was three over through three holes before seven birdies over his final 13 holes saw him finish on the required number.

Scott Hend finished 67th, Peter Lonard and New Zealander Mark Brown 73rd,while Mitch Krywulycz was 126th.

The six round event was won by Texan Zack Fisher who, after an opening round of 75, played superbly to win by two over Scott Pinckney with a combined score of 31 under.
