BY Bruce Young | 07 Jan 2014

Frenchwoman, Joanna Klatten, has won the opening event of the ALPG season with a playoff victory over Queenslander Bree Arthur at the BWAC ALPG Pro-am at Yamba Golf and Country Club in northern New South Wales.

28 year old Klatten won at the second extra hole after both players recorded rounds of 70.

Klatten is no stranger to success in Australia having won the 2012 Victorian Open at Spring Valley Golf Club.

Although currently ranked only 158th in the world, Klatten played well towards the end of the 2013 season on the Ladies European Tour finishing 4th in two of her last three events.

The playoff pair finished one shot ahead of Ashley Ona from Queensland and Chloe Leurquin from Belgium.
