14 Aussies play Web.Com season opener

BY Bruce Young | 11 Feb 2014

The Web.Com Tour returns this week for the first of twenty five events in season 2014, the initial four events to be played in Central and South America.

This week’s tournament is in Bogota in Colombia for the Pacific Rubiales Colombia Championship Presented by Claro where 14 Australians and one New Zealander are currently entered to play the event.

Steve Allan, Gavin Coles, Adam Crawford, Matthew Goggin, Nathan Green, Ashley Hall, Peter Lonard, James Nitties, Nick O’Hern, Rod Pampling, Cameron Percy, Aron Price, Alistair Presnell, Jake Younan and New Zealander Steve Alker are those Australasians with all no doubt keen to get a quick start to the season before a three week break between this and the Chile Classic in Santiago.

Pampling played the AT&T National Pro Am event on invitation last week so has at least a warm up while for many this will be their first competitive event for two months or so. Pampling struggled to a third round of 75 at Pebble Beach last Saturday to miss the cut.
