Woods jumps 209 places in world ranking

The victory last Sunday by Cheyenne Woods at the Volvik RACV Ladies Masters has seen the 23 year old American rise more than 209 places in the Rolex World ranking to number 154.

The impressive two shot winner at RACV Royal Pines surprised many given her lack of experience in such a situation having never previously recorded even a top ten on the Ladies European Tour but the manner in which she dispatched a field of many more credentialed players bodes well for her 2014 season.

Woods will play this week’s Women’s Australian Open where she faces the full force of an LPGA Tour field and her capacity to take her game to another level again will be watched with interest.
