BY Bruce Young | 29 Mar 2014

The Asia Pacific Golf Confederation’s side fought back on the third and final day of the Sir Michael Bonallack Trophy in Bangalore in India but the Europeans had established such a lead on the opening two days that the result was all but assured before the 12 singles matches got underway.

For the record the Asia Pacific side won the singles by 7 to 5 but lost the three day encounter by 17.5 to 14.5 to win the event for the sixth occasion in eight attempts.

Winners for the Asia Pacific side in the singles were Geoff Drakeford, Nam hun Kim, So Min Lee, Jin Cheng, Daichi Sato, Lee Chieh Po and Kenta Konishi.

Victorian Drakeford won four of a possible five points in his matches.
