Aussies could do well in Mexico too

BY Bruce Young | Web.com Tour | 2014 El Bosue Mexico Championship | Preview | 08 Apr 2014
It seems a strange week to be running a tournament opposite the Masters, especially when they had clearer air last week, but the Web.Com Tour is in Mexico this week for the El Bosue Mexico Championship at the El Bosque GC, Leon, Guanajuato.

The US$700,000 event has attracted a strong Web.Com Tour field with money list leader, Alex Cejka, perhaps the pick following his win in Colombia, his runner-up finish in Brazil and his 11th place finish in Panama.

The German has already done enough to get to regain his full status on the PGA Tour in 2015 but in the meantime he may well be in for a fruitful time in the remainder of the 2014 season.

There is yet again a long line-up of Australasians in the field with Alistair Presnell, Ashley Hall and Aron Price the money list leaders amongst the Australasians to date this season and playing this week.

Steve Alker, Steve Allan, Adam Crawford, Nick Flanagan, Mattie Goggin, Nathan Green, Bronson La Cassie, Nick O’Hern, Cameron Percy and Jake Younan are others who will take their place in the field with La Cassie, who now has PGA Tour status looking to use this as a week to get his game in shape for a return to the PGA Tour.

The event has been good to Australians in its short history with Jarrod Lyle winning in 2008 and Adam Bland runner-up in 2009
