Ryo Ishikawa favourite at Tsuruya Open

BY Bruce Young | Japan Tour | 2014 Tsuruya Open | Preview | 22 Apr 2014

The Japan Tour moves from Nagoya to the Kobe region for this week’s Tsuruya Open where the leading world ranked player will be Ryo Ishikawa who appears now to be regaining the level of form that saw him one of the bright young stars of the game.

Ishikawa now plays the PGA Tour but he still plays one of two events on the Japan Tour each season and while Japan’s highest ranked player and the 2013 winner of this event, Hideki Matsuyama is not in this week’s field, Ishikawa is likely to attract a wide audience.

The Australasian challenge includes Brad Kennedy, Kurt Barnes, David Smail, Michael Hendry, Stephen Leaney, Steve Conran, Stephen Leaney, Matthew Guyatt, Steven Jeffress and last week’s 4th placed finisher, Adam Bland, who is in his first season in Japan.
