Chien wins second China Series event

American Sam Chien has won the second event of the inaugural PGA Tour China Tour Series, the Buick Open, winning by three shots over 17 year old amateur Dou Ze Cheng at the Guanghou Guangdong Dragon Lake Golf Club in Guangdong today.

Chien, who won on the Springs Series Final on the Gateway Tour in Arizona last month, held off a determined challenge from Dou who continues to emerge as a fine prospect for Chinese golf.

Chien finished 6th in the season opening event in Haikou on Hainan Island two weeks ago now heads the Order of Merit after two events of the Series supported by the US PGA Tour.

The leading Australians were NSW’s Brad McIntosh and Ray Beaufils who tied for 11th while Brett Drewitt and Chris Campbell were one shot further back in a share of 13th position.

The next event in the 12 tournament series will be played in Wuhan beginning on May 15th .
