Japan’s Yoshitaka Takeya and Korean Dong Kyu Jang lead the Japan Tour Championship into the weekend, the pair two shots ahead of Thailand’s Thanyakon Khrongpha through 36 holes.

Jang, who won the Mizuno Open just three weeks ago to claim his first Japan Tour title and a start at the Open Championship next month, is in his third season on the Japan Golf Tour while Takeya has struggled to earn full status on the since first playing there in 2007.

The leading Australian is Scott Strange who is 26th while Michael Hendry and David Smail are 40th and Kurt Barnes, Steve Conran and Dimi Papadatos are 52nd and just inside the cutline.
