Aussies performing well at Rice Planters

The Rice Planters Amateur Tournament at the Snee Farm in Mt Peasant in South Carolina has completed 54 holes at which point the cut has been made.

India’s Rigel Fernandes, a Freshman at the University of South Florida, has opened up a four shot lead over Australian Travis Smyth and China’s Fu Zhongyang.

Smyth, from Wollongong, added a third round of 67 to move within five of the tearaway leader.

Fellow New South Welshman Zac Stolz, a member of the University of Tennessee’s Chattanooga’s golf team, is also inside the top ten, his third round of 68 has him at 4 under although eight shots from the lead.
